Pancakes Recipe

Hello Guys!

Lately, I've not been so busy with work and tuition because most schools just ended their exams and are about to go on 1 month holiday! Which means, I am sitting at home and trying my best not to get fat. As much as I am proud of myself restraining from the super good food, I always remember to treat myself with something nice. Besides, I have taken a liking to baking/cooking and love how it turns out on camera. I should put it more effort into the photography because I just indulge once I snap with my iPhone.

Anyway, today I wanted to show you a pancake recipe. My family members and I have tried a few recipes and I finally found the pancakes that I really love. (FAT AND FLUFFY). Enough of all the talking, I found this recipe on YouTube months back and it is the best recipe I have found so far. It's really easy to make so don't waste your money buying the ready-mix one.

INGREDIENTS
3 Eggs
600 ml Milk
450g Self Raising Flour
170g Sugar
3 tsp Baking Powder

PROCESS
1. Break the eggs in a large bowl and pour the milk into the eggs. Whisk them together.

2. Add the dry ingredients (Flour, Sugar and Baking powder) and whisk them together.

3. Leave the batter to rise for about an hour. Then use a large spoon and beat the batter to a thick dropping consistency. If think that it is too thick you can add a splash of milk.
*my batter did not rise up like how it was shown on the video but it still turned out great!

4. Heat a large frying pan or griddle on a medium heat. Wrap a piece of butter on a paper towel and grease the pan.

5. Turn the heat up and use the spoon to dollop the  batter onto the pan. Leave the pancakes to cook until bubbles appear and the edges look dull. Then flip them. Leave them to cook on the other side for about 2-3 minutes.

6. Serve them with your favourite topping! Or you can even eat it on its own.

The recipe said that you can get about 20 pancakes but I got about 30 probably because it was smaller in size. I topped it with Peanut Butter Chocolate Sauce, Maple Syrup and some almonds.

You can substitute self-raising flour with plain flour but it won't be as fat as you can see from the picture above but it will still tastes great. You can even freeze it and just heat it up whenever you feel like having them because I know it can be chore to make pancakes every time you crave them. Have fun and enjoy some pancakes!

Paddington House of Pancakes Part 2

Hello! I was back at Paddington House of Pancakes yesterday. I did mention I would go back to try their other yummy dishes, but I didn't expect to back so soon. Initially the plan was to go JB and stuff our faces but due to some circumstances we decided to postpone and go for brunch instead. Since in my previous post I had already given an introduction about the restaurant, I shall just skip to the food.

I must say the place was already filled by 12pm mainly because it was a Sunday, but from the happy faces around I could tell they enjoyed their meal as much as I did.

 Oslo, $18
I ordered the most expensive meal. heh, but no regrets. Smoked salmon and cheesy scrambled eggs with grilled zucchini, spicy mashed potato pancakes and sour cream. I didn't like the sour cream, thought it tasted minty and I felt the meal could do without it. But the smoked salmon was so soft and a eggs went really well with the potato pancakes. I was already full halfway through the meal. But lucky we had 2 guys to help me with the meal. *winks*

  Tuscany, $11? (Can't remember the price ><)
For vegetarians, there are really good choices too. The crepe was served with zucchini, mushrooms, tomatoes, olives and cheese. My aunt told me that she had preferred the Vegetarian pancakes compared to this, but I really enjoyed this one as well. The ingredients complemented each other and the whole meal was a delight.

Classic Buckleberry, $13
When you flip though the menu, you can see the picture really big and clear. For those who can't decide between savoury or sweet pancakes, you can't go wrong with this dish. The pancakes are served with fresh blueberries and scrambled eggs, mushroom and chicken ham at the side. The pancakes was soft and fluffy and the eggs was really nice.

But I must say, again the dessert was the best meal of the day. I can't even remember the name because the moment I flipped to the desserts page, it caught my eyes and we just ordered. I think it was number 9005. hahaha. It was banana fritters and crepe, served with pineapples and peaches, vanilla ice cream and toffee at the side. Banana lovers would absolutely love this dish. Even if you are not, there is nothing to complain about this dish.

Anyway, I hope you all could visit this place and have good food just like I did. It's the holidays and I still haven't gotten myself a decent job which really sucks because I have been burning my pocket. Nevertheless, have a good weekend everyone!

Paddington House of Pancakes

I never fail to see mouth watering pancakes from Strictly Pancakes in social media sites like Instagram. It makes me even more frustrated that I can't dine in there as they serve ham and bacon which is taboo in my religion. When my aunt and cousin told me about this pancake restaurant that is located in City Square Mall I couldn't be happier. The halal certificate is not officially there but the staff told us that they were waiting for it.

I love brunch especially with my 2 favourite ladies, Roslina and Nazreen. It wasn't very difficult to spot the place and its beautiful interior was definitely a plus.

Just a small background on PHOP. It was originally opened in Malaysia where the founder wanted to bring the flavours from all around the world under on roof.

"Eat your way around the WORLD"

I am absolutely aware of my round face.

If you notice, most of their dishes are named after different countries which was really interesting. We were spoilt for choices and I don't think we were the only ones who had a hard time deciding what to order. I must say their menu was so pretty I wanted to take one home. hehe

Province set meal, $9.80
We were lucky to have gone there on a weekday as they had set meals which came with a small fruit salad and drink. The lunch set meal is only available on Mondays-Fridays, 11am - 3pm. The meal was served with crepe, chicken and mushroom with sauce and apple. I don't usually eat savoury crepes, but the chicken and mushroom sauce complimented the crepe rather well. The only thing I did not really like about it was the apply because personally I like my apples either cold and crunchy or hot and soft in a pie but this was neither here nor there.

 Munich, $13
I admit this isn't a beautiful shot but this was really good. For those who wants a healthier option you can try this buckwheat crepe that came with mozzarella cheese and chicken. I love cheese and anything with cheese usually can't go wrong. I would definitely recommend this dish if you are a cheese lover.

 Oreo Pancakes Shortstack, $12
I can't exactly remember the name of this, but it's oreo pancakes. Personally, this was my favourite dish of the day firstly because it has oreo, and secondly ice-cream with pancakes are so good. One minus is that the taste of the oreo didn't come off strong but overall the vanilla ice-cream complemented the soft fluffy pancakes to my liking.

Overall, it was a good dine in experience and I would go there again to try out the other pancakes. Also, they have promotion for DBS/POSB cardholders. Do check out reviews from other bloggers as well, but don't do it on an empty stomach because the food will just make you go hungry.
